How come you don't get snails? We have LOADS of them. They come in the sunroom and slime all over the toys. I don't like to put down poison but I need to do something. Maybe the neighbours are throwing them over their garden fence.

There are some things we just dont have here. I didnt think we had any snails till I found Sjaakie. We dont have squirrels here either and there are some big forrests just over the border in Belgium and we are not far from the Ardennes.
We do have a lot of wood lice here which could be a problem eventualy living on a wooden boat. Theres plenty of rats along the canal and the mice seem to be breeding faster than we can catch them.
On the plus side we have a lot of hunting birds here. I was out running last year and came across a hawk sitting on a branch about waist hight. I got within 5 feet of it and it wasnt scared. I slowed down and walked past it and it just watched me as I went by.
