You know what I found most interesting about that article? The headline below it about "The woman that took on a banking giant and won $33m in a sexism case". How many people would $33m feed? There's money around, it's just distributed unevenly.

BTW, I'd buy a box of porridge and some milk or a loaf of bread and some cheese. Not that you can get either with 82 cents. You'd be lucky to buy just a banana for that.
